In the heart of Tiko, within the embrace of Saint Joseph’s Parish, a transformation has unfolded, bringing smiles, laughter, and an enhanced learning environment to the children of Saint Augustine’s Nursery and Primary School. Impact NGO, committed to its mission of supporting education and healthcare in rural communities, has recently added a playground to the school’s facilities, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards nurturing well-rounded individuals.
The story of Saint Augustine’s transition from a once dilapidated structure to an ultra-modern educational facility is one of community, compassion, and global solidarity. With the leadership of the Bishop of the Diocese of Boya and the generosity of international benefactors, including a touching contribution made in memory of Sandy, a beloved teacher from Cincinnati, Ohio, the school was reborn. On December 17, 2022, this rebirth was celebrated with the inauguration of new classrooms, offices, and sanitation facilities, all designed to provide a conducive learning environment for the young minds of Tiko.
Building on this foundation, the addition of a playground represents a further commitment to the holistic development of the school’s pupils. Recognizing that play is an essential component of childhood development, Impact NGO sought to create a space where children could engage in physical activity, foster social interactions, and simply enjoy the freedom of being children.
